June 08, Kathmandu: Thirty people from Arghakhanchi who came in contact with a young man who died of corona virus (Covid-19) have been confirmed infected.
A young man from Charepani, Ward No. 9 of Arghakhanchi had died on May 26 while returning from India. Chief District Officer of Arghakhanchi, Vijay Poudel, said that 30 people were confirmed infected during the test.
Kapilvastu of the young man who died in India while returning home was brought for postmortem. During the post-mortem, his swab was collected and examined at Bhairahawa Public Health Laboratory. But even before the corona infection was reported, the deceased was buried.
After the corona infection was confirmed in the deceased, throat swabs of 50 people who came from India, carrying the body of the deceased and those in contact with him were collected and tested by PCR method. Thirty of them have been confirmed infected.
Infection has also been confirmed in another person who did not come in contact with the deceased. According to Poudel, 29 people from Sandhikharka Municipality, one each from Shitganga Municipality and Pandini Village Municipality have been infected.
